Professor Jan Engberg of Department of Business Communication, School of Business and Social Sciences, Aarhus University is organising a PhD course on Investigating Knowledge Communication: Concepts, Methods, Means. Knowledge Communication is an emerging interdisciplinary approach to the study of construction, textual / multimodal representation and communication of specialised, mainly professional or academic knowledge. 

PhD students are invited to apply for the course. Under the patronage of UNESCO, the 19th European Symposium on Languages for Special Purposes (LSP2013) will be held at the Centre for Translation Studies of the University of Vienna, from 8th to 10th of July 2013.

The Symposium will offer parallel tracks on domain-specific languages, professional communication, theoretical and methodological issues of research and training, terminologies, specialized/technical translation, multilingualism, and socio-cultural issues of LSPs.

The Symposium will also include a Forum for Early-Stage Researchers, allowing graduate students, post-docs and junior researchers to discuss their research and methodology with distinguished senior researchers. The Symposium is organized by the UNESCO Chair in Multilingual, Transcultural Communication in the Digital Age and members of the editorial board of the journal Fachsprache.

We are pleased to invite you to an expert workshop on "Terminology, Multilingualism and Legal Informatics" to be held on 18th of October 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Centre for Translation Studies (SR9).

The workshop on "Terminology, Multilingualism and Legal Informatics" is organised by the Chairholder, Professor Gerhard Budin. The  workshop is part of  "Hieronymustage 2012", a two-day celebration of the International Translation Day at the Centre for Translation Studies.
